Podcast: Episode 1

It’s here! Our first podcast episode is LIVE!¬† Episode 1: First Show/Valentine’s Day Join us as we¬†offer introductions, horror origins, our origin, and dive into some of our favorite “off-the-beaten-path” couples (meaning, unlikely, weird, or often forgotten couples). First Impressions: ‘Scream Queens’

Before diving into¬†Scream Queens, let me just say that we have a spotty past with Ryan Murphy. The first few seasons of¬†Glee¬†were actually pretty delightful. And, as of right now, we’re 50/50 with¬†American Horror Story¬†— seasons one and three were good (although¬†Coven‘s ending was incredibly disappointing); we watched only three episodes of¬†Asylum¬†before falling off;¬†and¬†then there’s¬†Freakshow,… Read More ›

First Impressions: ‘Fear the Walking Dead’

We watched the Fear the Walking Dead¬†premiere last night and — truth be told — it was exactly what I thought it would be. Maybe even a little better considering the mixed reactions the show’s been getting. For those complaining that there wasn’t enough “action,” I beg to differ. It was book-ended with your zombie… Read More ›

Spoiler: the show’s actually pretty good! It airs Fridays, 9/8c on Syfy.¬† ’12 Monkeys’ fan react: Meeting a villain and filling in the gaps January 25,… Read More ›

Christmas Commercials from My Childhood

As a VCR-owning family from the 80s, we would tape a lot of TV. This included some kick-ass holiday¬†specials (i.e.¬†Pee-wee’s Playhouse Christmas Special,¬†A Garfield Christmas Special,¬†The Simpsons holiday episodes, TV movies, etc). ¬†Through my childhood and into my college years, one of my favorite traditions was to watch said Christmas specials with¬†the original Christmas commercials…. ‘Walking Dead’ Mid-Season Finale Prediction: We need to talk (updated)

I’m super thankful that my gut-wrenching prediction DID NOT happen. See my notes below. I have a horrible, horrible feeling regarding the mid-season finale for¬†The Walking Dead. Thanks to Norman Reedus (see below), we all know something tragic is going to happen. Someone will die–it’s just matter of figuring out who it is (or waiting… Read More ›

‘The Walking Dead’ — Season 4 Finale Predictions

While we wait — DAYS — to view the finale, it’s fun to speculate on what’s to come for our dear friends and foes on “The Walking Dead.” ¬†I started this conversation on Facebook¬†earlier this week, but I just wanted to expand upon it a little here. ¬†Here we go. Warning — POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD… Read More ›

Bloody Love is in the Air!

Valentine’s Day is Friday and the internet has me inspired. ¬†This week, Facebook and Twitter are all abuzz with romance — chocolate, flowers, champagne and .. zombies. ¬†Nothing wrong with that. ¬†With homemade Valentines and e-cards alike, the horror community appears to be embracing this holiday with its blood and guts. ¬†To get in the… Read More ›

First Impressions: ‘Coven’ (SPOILERS)

POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD Last week, we watched the first episode (perfectly titled Bitchcraft)¬†of “American Horror Story: Coven.” ¬†Now, we enjoyed the first season, “Murder House,” well enough; though, some bits were unsettling to watch — mainly because I was seven months pregnant at the time. ¬†“Asylum,” on the other hand, never grabbed us and we… Read More ›
